Dr. Hunt gave a presentation on "The Case for Leadership: Method, Motive, and Opportunity." He said that every organization has a "skin" in the game and that the common goal is reliability and safety in hospitals. He explained that CMS has been the 800-pound gorilla but that it is being asked very pointed questions, and that demands are being made of it. He also said that change is inevitable and will happen faster than anybody appreciates. He said that success is wholly dependent on partnership and that the path forward requires systems, resources, and courage.
